1) There is no specific mention to the limited range of motion for
all door and window objects. The pivot points are adjusted to facilitate
rotation or movement within a scene. Therefore, if you move or rotate
an object too much it may appear to be emerged in another object, so
proceed with caution and common sense.
2) Two brushes are included in the Images directory which are used as
maps for the appearance of shingles on the roof of all four homes.
Originally the shingles were modeled but this took up too many polygons.
It is also used as a map for a brick appearance on the RanchChimney.
There are also five images included which can be used as backgrounds
or image maps for the windows.
3) There are 14 scene files included, below is a description of each.
Each home consists of a hierarchy of objects, you should look these
over to familiarize yourself with the objects, positions, and pre-defined
surfaces. Then it will be easier to create your own scenes either by
loading from scene, loading specific objects only or using these scenes
as a starting point, which will retain the moved pivot points for heading
or movement adjustments for animation. If no animation of windows or
doors is required, load the all objects of each home saved as one.
Also, if no interior is needed just load the Home scene to use, clear all
the room and exterior objects and load the exterior only object of that
home. This will free up some RAM.
FOUR HOMES- This scene will load all objects of all four Homes, 183 total
with 500 surface definitions. Each object is parented to a null so that
you may append each home to each other creating a street. By moving the
null for each home you can position each home with pivots for moveable
objects retained and make your own neighborhood.
HOMES- This scene loads the all objects saved as one for each home.
This is useful if no animation of doors or windows are required but an
exterior shot is to be made.
LAKESIDEHOME-
ONESTORYHOME-
RANCHHOME-
TRADITIONALHOME-
These scenes have all their individual objects loaded
with pivot points adjusted for rotational heading or axis movement
for animation. Use as a starting point or load from scene to have all
objects retain their pivot point adjustments.
FLY- Each home also has an exterior, 360 degree fly around scene.
Render the preview for 190 frames to get a good view of the home.
WALK- Each home also has a scene that walks you through the interior
rooms via doors and doorways.
4) There are three objects not listed in the manual for the Ranch Home,
though they are part of the scene files. They are;
RLivingRoomPatioDoorStep
RLivingRoomSlideDoorStep
RStorageDoorStep
5) Each home has a road object associated with it. What the manual omits
is that they have the same surface names for the pavement and stripes.
This is helpful when appending the homes so the surface appearance will
blend between the four road objects.
Lightwave 2.0 Users:
1. The FourHomes and the 4 Fly-around scenes contain Null objects. You
will need to compensate for this.
2. Where Cubic image mapping is used, you will need to re-save the
objects using the correct planar map.
After familiarization of all the parts which comprise each home,
you will be ready to customize your own scenes with whatever objects
are needed. Application of 24bit image maps and input of furniture
and other household objects will further expand your architectural
renderings with photorealism. Have fun and consider our other 4
packages in this series: Interior Design I, II, III, and Construction.
Thank you for the purchase and feel free to call with questions!
